In this course, students explore the building blocks of matter—atoms and molecules—and learn how they behave and interact. They study how matter changes state, how energy drives those changes, and key concepts like heat, density, and motion. By the end, students will understand the connection between matter and energy in the world around them. This is the first half of a two-part Eighth-Grade Science series. This course also encompasses Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

This course uses our model to give students the opportunity to develop both real-world 21st Century Skills and Social and Emotional Learning Soft Skills to develop college and career readiness.
